Token Contract Verification

Sender Address Verification
Identifies who is sending you crypto. Checks if the sender is a known project, company, or person. Flags new or suspicious addresses before tokens land.
Uniswap official distribution: "Verified legitimate sender." Safe to claim.
Unknown address created 1 hour ago: "Unknown sender. Don’t interact until verified."
Impersonating MetaMask: "Sender is impersonating MetaMask. Phishing attempt." Blocked.
Token Fraud Detection
Detects rug pull tokens, clones, malicious code, and tokens that drain your wallet if approved. Scam tokens look real in your wallet — Security Gate sees through them.
Real ENS airdrop: "Legitimate protocol. Can safely interact."
"MOON" rug pull token: "Creator has executed 3 rug pulls. Tokens worthless." Blocked.
"YIELD" malicious token: "Approving this token would drain your wallet." Blocked.
Contract Authentication
Verifies the token contract is legitimate. Compares contract address to known legitimate addresses. Blocks fake versions of real tokens like UNI, USDC, ETH.
Verified USDC: "This is real USDC." Code verified on Etherscan.
New project: "Contract unverified. Manually verify before use."
Fake UNI: "Real UNI is 0x1f98... This contract is different." Blocked.
Source of Funds Analysis
Traces where the tokens came from. Receiving stolen or tainted funds can put you at legal risk. Security Gate warns you before you accept them.
Exchange withdrawal (Coinbase): "Source is legitimate exchange." Safe to accept.
Tokens from rug pull: "Tokens came from a rug pull — may not be tradeable."
Stolen DeFi funds: "Funds trace to known theft/exploit." Blocked with legal warning.
Risk Scoring
Combines all 4 checks into an overall risk score (0–100%). Provides a clear recommendation: accept, verify, or block.
0% Risk — Auto-approved. Legitimate airdrop from verified protocol.
60% Risk — Quarantine. Unknown token, unverified contract, unknown origin.
95% Risk — Blocked. Known scammer, rug pull token, malicious code.

You Receive an Unknown Airdrop Token
50% Risk Score步骤 1: Don't Panic
Just receiving a token ≠ you're hacked. Scammers send unsolicited tokens constantly.

Do NOT click links, approve the token, swap it, or visit websites about it.

Search "[token name] scam". Check CoinGecko, official Discord, verified Twitter.

Official support NEVER asks for money via DM. Real mistakes are handled by exchanges.

Rarely. If it does, you can override (except high-risk). We're conservative on purpose — better to warn than allow harm.
Does Security Gate Share My Data?
No. All checks happen on-device or through privacy-preserving APIs. Meton never sees your addresses or transactions.
What If I Disagree With a Security Gate Alert?
You can override yellow/red alerts (except critical). But we recommend researching first before overriding.
Does Security Gate Protect Against All Scams?
No, but ~95%. No system is 100% safe. Use good judgment + Security Gate = maximum safety.
Can My Seed Phrase Be Stolen Through Security Gate?
No. Meton is non-custodial. Your seed phrase stays on your device. Security Gate cannot access it.
What If Someone Has My Address?
Just having your address is not dangerous. They can see your balance but cannot steal funds. Your private key is what matters.
Does Security Gate Cost Extra?
No. Built into Meton. Free for all users. No additional fees ever.
Can I Turn Off Security Gate?
No. It's always on. We strongly recommend never disabling it — it's your primary protection layer.
How Often is Security Gate Updated?
Continuously. New scam patterns are detected and added to the database daily.
What if Security Gate Flags a Real Address?
Unlikely but possible. Whitelist legitimate addresses you use often. Report false positives to security@metonwallet.com.
